Does the DTC offer private lessons? 


The coaching programs in 2024 are based on group lessons. Group lessons are a contemporary way of coaching because they are fun, engaging for juniors and adults to learn, and cost-effective. The best first step would be to join one of our group lessons. From the group lessons, individual/private or semi-private coaching may be arraigned with the club coaches during the group lessons.

Can I create my group?

Yes. At least four players are needed to create a group.

What happens when it rains? 

  • Juniors – All junior programs will run each week. If inclement weather occurs, DTC coaches will run a modified program indoors.
  • Adults – If Adults group sessions are cancelled, the DTC will aim to send you a notification email. If your lesson has commenced and is subsequently cancelled within the first 40 minutes, you will be entitled to another session at no cost.

Are there programs on Public Holidays? 

No. If your session lands on a public holiday, you can attend another-like session.

Can I book one session? 

  • Juniors – All our Junior programs are run on a Tasmanian school term basis. Your booking is for the whole term. The course cost will be pro-rated if you join after the term starts.
  • Adult –  Our Adult programs are run on a 5 week basis. The course cost will be pro-rated if you join after the term starts.

Are DTC Coaches Qualified?

All our coaches are qualified Tennis Australia tennis coaches. Our coaches will help guide your learning every step of the way. They will ensure you are playing with others of the same level. All coaches and volunteers delivering lessons have a valid Working With Vulnerable People Check and Police Check.

Make-Up Policy


  • If you miss a session, you can make up that session during the same term, subject to availability.


  • You may cancel and receive a full refund if it is done 48 hours in advance of the lesson.
  • If you cancel within 48 hours, you may change of day and time subject to availability.
  • If you do not show up, there is no refund.

    Await confirmation from the DTC. If your preferred alternate time is full, you will be provided with some options.

    Adult Classes Minimum Numbers

    If there are fewer than three registered players within 3 hours of the start time for an adult skills or cardio session, the session may be cancelled. If it is cancelled, you will be notified by email and refunded in full or offered to be moved to another class.

    The DTC regularly updates its policies. These policies are subject to change without notice.
